Job summary

GE Appliances in Camden, SC is seeking a Foam Room Operator responsible for daily operations, equipment startup/shutdown, and troubleshooting of chemical processing systems. You will collaborate with the area team leader to ensure safety, quality and environmental requirements are met.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 3+ years' experience with chemicals and mechanical systems, with the ability to wear PPE and respirators.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 3+ years' experience with chemicals and mechanical systems.
• Must be able to wear a respirator and PPE.
• Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate and lead in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow all EHS Process Safety requirements implemented by GE Appliances.
• Operate chemical processing systems safely and efficiently.
• Support emergency response activities.
• Perform Preventative Maintenance procedures and calibrations as required.
• Operate and control chemical process equipment and adjust for safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Monitor process control systems, alarms, and indicators; record readings and material needs.
• Start-up/shutdown equipment; perform cleaning and purging of lines.
• Assist technical personnel in plant repairs and inspections.
• Provide feedback to management on issue resolutions.
• Work in a LEAN manufacturing environment and suggest process improvements.
