Job summary

Argo Community High School is seeking a qualified English teacher for a temporary FMLA leave position covering Honors English 2 for approximately four weeks starting October 6, 2026.

The teacher will deliver the established curriculum, engage students, assess learning, maintain grades and attendance, and support a positive classroom environment. Illinois PEL with an English endorsement is required; prior high school English teaching experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with English endorsement.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Previous high school English teaching experience preferred.

Temporary Position – Approximately 4 Weeks

Start Date: October 6, 2026

Argo Community High School is seeking a qualified English teacher to fill a temporary FMLA leave position for approximately four weeks beginning October 6, 2026.

This position consists of one course preparation: Honors English 2. The teacher will be responsible for delivering the established curriculum, providing engaging instruction, assessing student learning, maintaining grades and attendance, and supporting a positive classroom environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Teach Honors English 2 using established curriculum and instructional materials.
• Plan and deliver effective daily instruction.
• Assess student work and provide timely feedback.
• Maintain accurate attendance and grade records.
• Communicate with students, families, and school staff as appropriate.
• Follow school and district policies and procedures.
