Job summary

Bastion Technologies, Inc. is seeking a FMEA/FMECA Reliability Engineer to support the space program at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. Hybrid work arrangement with travel expectations is available.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, evaluate, and ensure the quality of reliability assessments for MSFC programs and projects.
• Support development of FMEA/FMECA/CIL products and ground rules for the Human Landing System program.
• Review project documentation to verify consistency, completeness, and compliance with reliability requirements.
• Develop, apply, and maintain analytical tools needed to identify and meet reliability/maintainability requirements.
• Prepare, evaluate, and provide assessments of in-house and supplier quality documentation, including implementation of instructions and procedures.
• Participate in failure and problem investigations, determine root cause, and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide expertise in reviewing and assessing documentation related to manufacturing, inspection, and test processes.
• Perform focused quantitative risk assessments to support risk-informed decisions regarding flight risk and mitigation options.

Job description

The FMEA/FMECA Reliability Engineer will support the space program located at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare, evaluate, and ensure the quality of reliability assessments for MSFC programs and projects.
• Support the development of FMEA/FMECA/CIL products and ground rules for the Human Landing System (HLS) program, ensuring alignment with program standards.
• Review project documentation to verify consistency, completeness, and compliance with reliability requirements.
• Develop, apply, and maintain analytical tools needed to identify and meet reliability and maintainability requirements for MSFC programs and projects.
• Prepare, evaluate, and provide assessments of in‑house and supplier quality documentation, including implementation of instructions and procedures.
• Participate in failure and problem investigations, determine root cause, and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide expertise in reviewing and assessing documentation related to manufacturing, inspection, and test processes.

• This position requires US Citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer related information.
• Must have a bachelor's degree in the field of STEM (e.g., physics, engineering, math, etc.)
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of recent and related work experience.
• In lieu of degree: Candidates with a minimum 9 years of recent and related experience will be considered.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple parallel tasks at varying levels of maturity with effective time management.
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize large volumes of information and clearly summarize key insights.

WORK LOCATION:

• This is a hybrid position that offers a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off; some travel may be required.
• Schedules are subject to change based on the requirements of the position and/or customer needs.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:

• Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.

• Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
• Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time) and may require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
• Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.
