Job summary

RAI - Reinicke Athens, Inc. is looking for full-time, experienced Flux Core Structural Welders for our Williamston, SC location. Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years of welding experience, including flux core welding, and the ability to pass an AWS weld test.

This shop position requires adherence to safety procedures, operation of welding machines, and physical endurance. We offer a competitive hourly pay based on experience along with benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401k.

Job Title

Flux Core Structural Welder

Work Setting

Shop Position – Williamston, SC

Job Summary

RAI is seeking full‑time, experienced Flux Core Structural Welders for our Williamston, SC location.

Essential Functions

• Adhere to all safety procedures, including wearing all proper PPE
• Operate a welding machine to join parts together, utilizing proper techniques for different joint types, positions, and thicknesses
• Clean, grind, and prepare metal to ensure proper weld penetration
• Accurately interpret drawings and prints to understand the required weld specifications, joint types, and positioning of components
• Measure and cut using power tools, plasma cutters, and oxy‑fuel torches
• Visually inspect welds for defects such as porosity, slag inclusions, and undercut
• Regularly clean and maintain welding equipment, including the wire feeder and power supply
• Must be able to pass a 3G weld test on 1” carbon plate with a backer bar

Education and Experience

• 3 – 5 years’ experience preferred
• Ability to pass an AWS weld test required
• Flux core welding experience required
• MIG and TIG experience preferred
• Stainless steel and aluminum experience a plus

Work Environment / Physical Demands

• Day Shift Schedule: Typically 6am-4:30pm Monday-Friday, with some Saturdays required. Overtime hours available
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to stand for extended periods and safely maneuver around various construction equipment and vehicles on an active construction site
• Regularly encounter moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and a variety of outside weather conditions
• Ability to climb temporary or permanent stairs and ladders
• Able to bend, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, balance, stoop, and reach regularly
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
