Job summary

Blue Origin in Colorado is seeking a Lead Fluids Analyst to support the TVS development for the MK2 Crewed Lander, working with NASA and national partners on Artemis and HLS programs.

You will generate thermo-fluids models, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the thermal management of cryogenic propellants for the MPS.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of thermal/fluids analysis experience.
  • Proficiency with CFD tools such as Thermal Desktop or Sinda/Fluint.
  • Understanding of Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, and Thermodynamics.
  • Hands-on experience with first-order and Excel-level fluids calculations.

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

We are looking for a Lead Fluids Analyst to support development of the Thermodynamic Vent System (TVS) on the MK2 Crewed Lander in support of NASA’s Artemis & HLS programs. The TVS is responsible for thermal management of the Main Propulsion System (MPS) cryogenic propellants (LH2 & LOX).

The selected candidate will follow TVS through the complete development lifecycle from preliminary design through build, test, integration and on console operation.

You will work with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) program. You will play a key role in developing the MK2 Crewed Lunar Lander that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.

Qualifications
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of thermal/fluids analysis experience
  • Proficiency using common CFD tools such as Thermal Desktop or Sinda/Fluint
  • Understanding of Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, and Thermodynamics
  • Hands-on experience with first-order and Excel-level fluids calculations
Desired
  • Expertise in Thermal Desktop
  • Experience with LH2 and/or LOX
  • Experience supporting propulsion system ground testing
  • Experience with zero boiloff solutions
  • CFD expertise (ANSYS Fluent, FLOW3D)
  • Experience with cryogenic, multi-phase, or gaseous fluid systems
  • Spacecraft, space vehicle or launch vehicle fluid systems experience
Base Pay Range For

CA applicants is $121,023.00 - $169,432.20 CO applicants is $110,938.00 - $155,312.85 WA applicants is $121,023.00 - $169,432.20
