Kunin Technologies in Chattanooga, Tennessee seeks a CFD Engineer to model flow in ion-exchange modules, optimize manifolds, and drive performance through simulations and tests. You work with mechanical and mechatronics engineers on module design, production readiness, and scale-up toward a greenfield facility.

Qualifications include 1+ year CFD experience (ANSYS Fluent/COMSOL/OpenFOAM), Matlab or Python proficiency, and ability to solve complex flow problems in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, or aerospace engineering.
• 1+ years of experience with CFD tools (ANSYS Fluent, COMSOL, OpenFOAM).
• Experience with experimental flow measurement (pressure, flow, tracer).
• 1+ years using MATLAB or Python.
• Ability to work in fast paced environment and solve complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Model flow through modules and elements using CFD and reduced-order models.
• Design and run bench flow loops to validate pressure, flow, and tracer data.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineer on inlet/outlet headers and flow distribution.
• Characterize mass transfer and breakthrough performance with chemists.
• Develop hydraulic QA protocols for production modules.
