Job summary

Ilera Holistic Healthcare is seeking a Flower Technician in Louisiana to support daily flowering-stage plant care, follow established cultivation procedures, and learn hands-on techniques in a fast-paced team environment.

You will assist with defoliation, pruning, trellising, plant support, environmental monitoring, watering, and nutrient applications, while ensuring documentation accuracy and strict housekeeping.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Assist flowering-stage plant care including defoliation, pruning, trellising, and canopy maintenance.
• Monitor plant health and report pests, disease, or nutrient issues.
• Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, airflow, lighting).
• Perform watering and nutrient applications per SOPs.
• Support irrigation system operations as directed.
• Assist with room prep, plant movement, and organization.
• Label, tag, and document inventory accurately and timely.
• Maintain clean cultivation areas and perform harvest preparation tasks.
• Learn specialized flowering tasks such as trellis maintenance and lollipopping.
• Assist with harvest-related activities and room cleanup.
• Communicate daily tasks and production goals with the team.
• Adapt to changing schedules and priorities as needed.
• Follow security procedures and perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Description

The Flower Technician is responsible for supporting daily plant care activities during the flowering stage of cultivation. This entry-level role focuses on maintaining healthy plants, supporting flower development, and assisting with cultivation activities that contribute to crop quality and yield. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, willing to learn, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment while following established cultivation procedures and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company safety procedures, protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with flowering-stage plant care activities, including defoliation, pruning, trellising, plant support, and canopy maintenance.
• Support the monitoring of plant health and notify leadership of any concerns related to pests, disease, nutrient deficiencies, or environmental conditions.
• Assist in maintaining optimal environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, airflow, and lighting schedules.
• Perform watering and nutrient application activities according to established schedules and standard operating procedures.
• Assist with irrigation and fertigation system operations as directed.
• Support plant movement, room organization, and flowering room preparation activities.
• Complete plant labeling, tagging, inventory tracking, and required documentation accurately and timely.
• Maintain strict housekeeping standards to ensure cultivation areas remain clean, sanitized, and organized.
• Learn and perform specialized flowering tasks, including trellis maintenance, lollipopping, defoliation, and harvest preparation.
• Assist with harvest-related activities, including plant staging, plant breakdown, and room cleanup.
• Communicate effectively with team members regarding daily tasks, plant health concerns, and production goals.
• Adapt to changing schedules, workflows, and cultivation priorities as needed.
• Follow all company security procedures and operational requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Basic mathematical skills with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide various units of measure.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in agriculture, horticulture, greenhouse operations, landscaping, manufacturing, or cannabis cultivation.
• Familiarity with flowering-stage plant care and cultivation practices.
• Experience working in a regulated environment.
• Coursework or interest in Horticulture, Agriculture, Plant Science, or a related field.
• Experience working in a physically demanding environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
• Ability to work in a controlled indoor cultivation environment.
• Capability to perform physical labor while maintaining attention to detail and productivity standards.
