Qualifications

• A current New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License (licenses restricted to flow cytometry are acceptable).
• A Bachelors degree.
• Some experience in flow cytometry preferred.
• Candidates with keen interest in flow cytometry may start as Technologist I; those with ≥2 years lab experience may be Technologist II.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Desire to learn and develop in a highly sophisticated laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical duties in all laboratory sections, as assigned.
• Review test orders and verify accuracy of corresponding specimens.
• Maintain digital files in a neat and accessible manner.
• Accurately maintain specimen identity from entry to the lab to release of results.
• Navigate laboratory information systems proficiently.
• Be aware of and contribute to the safety and cleanliness of the laboratory.
• Restock reagents and supplies as necessary.
• Assure the accuracy of all tests performed by adhering to the laboratory’s SOPs.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance.
• Handle the physical environment of the laboratory in accordance with NY DOH, Joint Commission, OSHA and CLIA regulations
• Provide direction, training, and feedback on routine laboratory procedures, as assigned
