The Set Medics seeks experienced medical professionals to join our team as independent contractors for TV and film productions across Florida. As a Set Medic, you will play a critical role in ensuring health and safety of cast and crew during on-location shoots and studio productions.

This per diem role requires quick thinking, excellent clinical skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure in fast-paced environments while traveling to various production locations nationwide.

Qualifications

• Active EMT/Paramedic/Nurse certification or equivalent medical qualification.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications required.
• Experience as Set Medic or similar role in TV/film is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid, emergency medical care, and health support during filming and production.
• Monitor health and safety of cast and crew, enforcing protocols.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies and administer care until further help arrives.
• Maintain medic kit and equipment and ensure readiness.
• Collaborate with production to assess health risks and plan safety measures.
• Document incidents and treatments per industry standards and company policies.
• Offer guidance on hydration, sun protection and fatigue management.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first aid, emergency medical care, and health support during filming and production.
• Monitor the health and well-being of cast and crew members, ensuring everyone follows safety protocols.
• Respond promptly to any medical emergencies or incidents, administering appropriate care until further medical assistance arrives if needed.
• Maintain a well-stocked medical kit and ensure that all medical equipment is up to date and in working order.
• Collaborate with production teams to assess potential health risks and develop safety plans.
• Document and report all incidents and treatments following industry standards and company policies.
• Offer advice and guidance on health-related matters, including hydration, sun protection, and managing fatigue.

Qualifications

• Current EMT, Paramedic, RN certification, or similar medical qualification.
• Valid CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Previous experience as a Set Medic or similar role in TV, film, or live events is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety protocols for on-set environments.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, and travel to various production locations nationwide.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations.
