Job summary

Weis Markets is seeking a Floral Associate in our store to keep the floral department stocked, attractive, and customer-focused. You will greet customers, discuss their needs, and create appealing arrangements on the sales floor.

The role involves merchandising, ensuring correct pricing and signage, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with deliveries. Training is provided; some duties may cross into other departments; PPE is required as per policy.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED completed or in progress.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Stock and display floral department to meet customer demand.
• Greet customers, discuss needs, make suggestions and handle requests.
• Set up displays, ensure fresh, correctly priced merchandise and signage.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness per guidelines and health standards.
• Inspect deliveries, report shortages/overages, and assist with receiving.
• May assist with other departments and operate equipment after training.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Keeps floral department well stocked and appealing to meet customer demand. Smiles and greets customers. Discusses customers’ needs, makes suggestions, handles special requests and resolves customer concerns in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Sets up displays and ensures that floral product is always fresh and in saleable condition with correct pricing and signage. Handles spoiled or damaged product according to company procedures and standards. Creates arrangements on the sales floor to attract customers.
• Follows company guidelines for merchandising product such as advertised items and utilizes incremental displays to drive sales.
• Responsible for general sanitation in the department. Follows cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure that work areas, counters, display cases, etc. are well maintained, clean and meet all health and OSHA requirements. Disposes of trash properly.
• Reviews orders of product and supplies. Minimizes loss by inspecting product upon delivery and maintaining proper refrigeration. Reports any shortages or overages to management.
• May assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries through operation of power jack or hand jack if properly trained. Training provided.
• May assist with baling cardboard or other related duties if properly trained. Training provided.
• Ensures smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors. Responsible to continuously improve job performance.
• Responsible for utilization of all company provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE). Including but not limited to cut resistant gloves, safety cutters, company sponsored footwear, etc.
• May also be called upon to assist in other departments.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without an accommodation. Rate Of Pay And Benefits

The hourly rate for this position starts at $12.77 and goes up to $20.00.
