Job summary

Floor Interior Services (FIS) seeks professional Measure Technicians to perform accurate in-home flooring measurements and deliver exceptional customer service.

The role is an independent contractor position. You will visit customers’ homes, measure applicable areas, document requirements, upload data, and provide an in-home installation quote. You represent FIS with professionalism and urgency.

Qualifications

• Experience in flooring measurement or related field preferred.
• Strong mathematical, measuring, and spatial reasoning skills.
• Ability to learn and accurately use electronic measuring and quoting systems.
• Comfortable presenting pricing and speaking directly with customers in their homes.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to documentation.
• Dependable transportation and willingness to travel the territory.
• Valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
• Ability to meet independent contractor requirements.

Responsibilities

• Travel to scheduled customer appointments within the assigned service area.
• Contact customers before arrival and maintain professional communication.
• Arrive on time, professionally dressed, and prepared to complete the assignment.
• Accurately measure rooms, closets, stairs, transitions, doorways, and other areas.
• Identify flooring types, subfloor conditions, transitions, and installation challenges.
• Create accurate diagrams, room layouts, measurements, and documentation.
• Upload measurements, diagrams, photographs, and notes within timelines.
• Review the installation scope with the customer and provide an in-home quote.
