Brief Description:

The Floorhand assists the Motorhand, Derrickhand, and Driller in day-to-day rig operations. Major responsibilities include general maintenance and cleaning, checking the rig and equipment, and assisting in drilling activities. The Floorhand is responsible for making drill pipe connections and tripping pipe in/out of the drilling hole. This is an entry-level job that provides initial introductory training and substantial on-the-job training.

Detailed Description:

• Lift and placeslips 150 pounds with an other person frequently during the tow work shift

• General upkeep of rig and drilling floor; includes regular sweeping, shoveling, cleaning, painting, washing equipment and related housekeeping duties

• Clean general upkeep of rig and drilling floor; includes regular painting, washing of equipment and related housekeeping duties

• Use infrared points, slips, and to n segments to propane break sections of drill pipe

• Assist in ingress motives: helpwithrig-up/ rig-down, nippleupanddownbowoutpreventers, assists in general assembly and maintenance and helperprenews location

• Regular check rig and equipment for any problems and safety issues on an on going basis

• Assist with inspection,slipping,cuttingdrilling line

• Responsible picking up and laying down treadmill, attaching or detaching pickup-lines, the hookupand tearout of flare and degress lines

• Assist Motorhandwithpreventivemaintenance and repairs of equipment and motors, pipe, and off-load materials as well as checking/changingoil and coolant

• Assist Derrickhandwithwatchingandmaintainingshakers,mudpips and pumps

• Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)at all times which could include but is not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses, coveralls, work gloves, respirator, and hearing protection

Job Requirements:

• Ability to stand a minimum of 3.5 hours and up to 12 hours without being able to sit while wearing steel-toed boots
• Able to repetitively climb stairs and be able to lift and carry 50 pounds independently while walking on uneven surfaces
• Must be comfortable working at heights (50ft. or greater)
• Stay alert and focused up to 12.5 hours while performing repetitive and routine activities
• Bench, stope, kneel, twist, and crawl through without the tower shift
• Prior experience or ability to use heavy-duty handlled tools
• Ability to safely lift and carry 50 pounds independently and repetitiveely climb steep stairs
• Demonstrate clear communication skills including writing and speaking English as well as understanding and promoting flow

Minimum Qualifications:

• Six (6) months experience as a Floorhand on a Drilling Rig
• One (1) year of stable work history

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience on a similar stye drilling Rig (triple,top drive,hydraulic catwalk,iron roughneck)
• Six (6) months stable related work history (e.g., farming,ranching,construction,heavy equipment or other trade) or military service
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Additional Details:

This position requires the person to work outdoors for entire tour work shift in all kinds of weather conditions, including precipitation, cold/ heat, high wind, and turbulence.
