Job summary

Compass Group is seeking a Floor Technician at Cherokee Medical Center in Gaffney, SC. The role focuses on floor maintenance, restoration, and operation of industrial floor care equipment, with a 7:00 am to 3:30 pm schedule, Monday–Friday and rotating weekends.

• Execute other duties as assigned by the manager.

Job Summary

Floor Technician responsible for floor maintenance, restoration, and operation of industrial floor care equipment at Cherokee Medical Center.

Position Details

• Location: Cherokee Medical Center – 1530 North Limestone Street, Gaffney, SC 29340
• Schedule: Full‑time, Monday‑Friday with rotating weekends, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (details provided during interview)
• Pay: $15.00 per hour (fixed rate)
• No prior experience required; training provided

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of principles of hard‑surface floor maintenance and apply proper procedures for stripping, refinishing, burnishing, spray cleaning, and spray buffing.
• Operate various types of industrial floor care equipment.
• Utilize automated equipment for cleaning large floor areas.
• Apply correct procedures to carpet and upholstery, including shampooing, damp surface, extractions, spot cleaning, and vacuuming.
• Perform maintenance and restorative processes for all floor surface types.
• Execute other duties assigned by the manager.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a floor care technician or related role preferred.
• Proven knowledge of floor care equipment and techniques.
• Ability to follow safety procedures.
• Capability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. frequently.
