Job summary

Flagship Facility Services, Inc. is seeking a Floor Technician for the 3rd shift in Salt Lake City, UT. This role maintains floor surfaces, operates buffers and scrubbers, and ensures safety and cleanliness standards across the client facility.

The position requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays. A high school diploma or GED and experience in floor care or janitorial services are preferred, with training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 6 or more months experience as a floor technician or in janitorial services is required.
• Knowledge of floor care equipment, chemicals, and safety procedures.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Completion of significant safety training is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of floors, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, buffing, and waxing.
• Operate and maintain specialized floor care equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, extractors, and burnishers.
• Respond promptly to spills and other floor-related maintenance needs to ensure safety and prevent accidents.
• Apply appropriate floor finishes and treatments according to established procedures.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify areas needing additional care or repairs.
• Dispose of waste materials and follow proper cleaning protocols.
• Assist with carpet cleaning, spot treatments, and stain removal as necessary.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, to prevent damage to floors and other objects.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and security policies.
• Work collaboratively with custodial and maintenance teams to maintain high cleanliness standards.
• Report any maintenance or safety issues to supervisors.
• Other duties as assigned.
