Job summary

Buckner is seeking a Floor Tech in San Angelo, TX. This onsite role supports cleaning and maintenance across resident living, common areas, and offices, with schedule Monday–Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM and duties that emphasize safe, thorough housekeeping.

You will clean floors and furnishings, polish surfaces, and coordinate with nursing services to ensure a like-new environment while upholding Buckner's hospitality standards.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and understand business documents written in English.
• Must understand and speak English.
• Must be able to move cleaning equipment throughout the facility.
• Must understand and follow basic written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions of assigned areas per daily work assignments.
• Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services for routine cleaning in resident areas.
• Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, and room equipment in residents’ rooms and recreational areas daily.
• Clean and service rooms, baths, offices, and common areas to a 'like new' appearance.
• Clean floors: sweeping, mopping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting with proper caution signs in place.
• Dust furniture and equipment; clean windows, sills, mirrors, and light globes in resident rooms and common areas.
• Clean, wash, sanitize, and polish bathroom fixtures; replenish soap and towels.
• Keep utility storage rooms tidy, organize supplies, vacuum and mop floors as needed.

We are seeking a Floor Tech to join our community, committed to maintaining cleanliness and servicing assigned areas, and to the efficient use of soaps, waxes, polishes, and similar supplies. As a Floor Tech, you will play an important role in all phases of housekeeping, meeting or exceeding Buckner's quality, service, and hospitality standards. What you'll do:

• Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions of assigned areas in accordance with daily work assignments.


• Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.


• Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in residents’ rooms and recreational areas daily.


• Clean and service all aspects of rooms, baths, offices, and common areas, aiming for a \"like new\" appearance.


• Clean floors, including sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, etc., while ensuring that appropriate caution/safety signs are properly in place.


• Dust furniture and equipment; clean windows, window sills, mirrors, and light globes in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entry/exit ways.


• Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures; ensure that watermarks are removed from fixtures. Scour and polish bathtubs, sinks, mirrors, and similar items; replenish supplies of soap and towels.


• Keep utility storage rooms in good order by cleaning lockers and equipment, arranging supplies, and vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors as needed.

What you’ll bring:

• Requires proficient ability to read, write, and understand business documents that are written in English. Requires the ability to understand verbal English and speak English.


• Requires ability to communicate verbally with residents, families, visitors and co-workers. Requires the ability to make oneself clearly understood by others.


• Requires the ability to understand and follow basic written and oral step-by-step instructions.


• Requires ability to move cleaning equipment throughout the facility on a daily basis.


• Work deals mostly with objects, equipment, and/or machines at or within arm’s reach. Depth perception and field of vision (peripheral) are of some importance.


• Requires the ability to move cleaning equipment/food throughout the facility, using up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a small amount of force continuously to move objects and/or people.


• Requires ability to walk, stand and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time; Turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, handle, stand, and walk over 75% of shift.
