Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a Floor Technician in Oceanside, CA to perform floor cleaning and maintenance tasks in a safe, efficient manner. You will operate cleaning equipment, wax, strip and buff floors, and keep work areas tidy while following all safety procedures.

The role requires strong teamwork, reliability, and the ability to communicate professionally with staff and supervisors. Evening hours Mon-Fri, with comprehensive benefit packages offered by SBM.

Qualifications

• No formal education required; 6 months to 1 year experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals and other documents.
• May require valid driver’s license and safety/training certifications.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety rules, policies and procedures.
• Work with team to complete assignments.
• Perform repetitive cleaning tasks and maintain clean work areas.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment safely.
• Perform floor care: waxing, stripping, buffing as required.
• Present professional appearance and conduct at all times.
• Report safety hazards and follow supervision directions.

Floor Technician

Job Description

The Floor Technician will be responsible for safely performing assigned floor care functions based on standards and procedures, performing environmental services as needed, and performing floor care such as waxing, stripping, buffing, and other contractual duties according to regulations.

Roles & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

• Work with other employees in a team to complete assignments
• Perform repetitive tasks
• Maintain clean work area
• Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
• Fill in during staff shortages, such as in custodial, recycle, or maintenance
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment that is required for assigned tasks
• Present a professional appearance and conduct
• Understand customer service and satisfaction.
• Understand reporting systems, and of the environment
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors: tile, carpet, and brick flooring
• Complete work assignments in a timely manner
• Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure
• Use and maintain equipment properly
• Operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely
• Always observe safety precautions, using safety signs “wet floor”
• Ability to work without normal supervision
• Report safety hazards as appropriate

Qualification

Education and/ or Experience: No education requirement 6 mo-1 year experience preferred: or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: May be required to have a valid driver’s licenseComplete all safety and task training certification May be required to be forklift certified

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team

Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment

Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Compensation and Shift

Monday-Friday, 3:00 pm-11:30 pm

$19.00-$20.00 per hour.
