Job summary

UG2 is seeking a Floor Technician to maintain and sanitize all floors to meet UG2 standards across campus facilities. You will operate cleaning equipment, keep logs, and ensure high cleanliness and safety standards while coordinating supplies and equipment.

Responsibilities include performing floor care, stripping and refinishing floors, carpet extraction, waste disposal, training new staff, inventory control, and strict adherence to safety procedures and PPE usage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Custodial experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred.
• Experience stripping and finishing floors (Terrazzo and VCT) preferred.

• Perform floor care and cleaning such as sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing throughout the DMU campus and facilities.
• Strip and refinish floors.
• Extract carpets.
• Remove and transport waste to proper disposal areas.
• Keep accurate information on floor care logs and checklists.
• Able to keep inventory of equipment and supplies.
• Aid in the on-the-job training of new staff.
• Operate walk-behind scrubbers, walk-behind extractors, and swing buffers.
• Steam clean upholstery.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Report any notable damages and concerns.
• Adhere to workplace safety standards.
• Use of PPE is required in accordance with the job task.

Working as a Floor Technician will mean you’re responsible for keeping high standards of cleanliness and safety as well as operating cleaning equipment and organizing and maintaining supplies and equipment.

Main Job Tasks And Responsibilities
