Job description

Kellermeyer Bergensons Services (KBS) has an immediate full‑time, permanent opening for a Floor Tech. This role is essential in maintaining clean, efficient, and safe workspaces in a fast‑paced environment.

Job Overview

Starting pay: $16.99 per hour.

Shift Information

Open schedule.

Responsibilities

• Perform spot removal, extraction, bonnet cleaning, strip/wax, scrub/recoat, seal/grout, and other floor care tasks.
• Scrub, shine, clean, and repair carpeted and non‑carpeted areas using appropriate equipment and chemicals.
• Clean floors and stairways by sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
• Move large furniture and objects when necessary and follow safety guidelines.
• Keep the janitor closet neat, clean, and organized.
• Follow manufacturer specifications for preparing chemicals and using equipment.
• Ensure building doors and windows are secure and locked.
• Report needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions requiring additional service to a supervisor.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Ability to operate and use janitorial tools, equipment, and supplies is preferred.
• One year of prior floor care experience is preferred.

Requirements

• Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each.
• Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and chemical safety documents (generally in English; Spanish may be required where state mandates).
• Lift and carry objects weighing 15 to 25 pounds.
• Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
• Full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists.
• Climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitation.
• Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, foot pedals, manual picking, pinching, holding, grasping, and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation).
• Use KBSPresence mobile time‑keeping software to record work hours, attendance, training completion, and receive employment information.
• Download and use the KBSPresence app on a personal mobile device; the company reimburses cell phone usage for work tasks.
