Job summary

HHS is seeking a Floor Care Technician for Bayhealth - Sussex EVS to maintain a clean, safe hospital environment for patients and staff. You will perform floor care tasks, assist the housekeeping team, and contribute to a high standard of cleanliness across patient areas.

The role offers hourly pay and full-time schedules, with shifts 7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 3:00 PM–11:30 PM, requiring background checks and proof of eligibility. A supportive team and competitive wages are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years old.
• Excellent English communication; able to work in a team.
• Uniforms and personal hygiene are required.
• Housekeeping/cleaning experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning, buffing, and bonneting to maintain floors.
• Strip and extract floors as assigned.
• Follow cleaning procedures and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

Floor Care Technician

• Wage: $ 18.40 /hour
• Full-time positions available
• Shifts available: 7 AM - 3:30 PM 3 PM - 11:30 PM
• Background check, drug screen, and proof of employment eligibility required
• Location: Bayhealth Hospital - Sussex

We're looking for friendly, compassionate, team players to join our housekeeping team!

Provide a superior level of cleaning quality in a hospital environment. Create a safe, clean, and comfortable environment where patients can heal.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning, buffing, and bonneting procedures to maintain floors
• Perform floor stripping and extraction projects as assigned
• Follow all HHS cleaning procedures and best practices
• Provide friendly and kind service to all individuals in the hospital
• Assist team members and management as needed to help the department operate efficiently

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years old
• Communicate effectively in English and work well in a team environment
• Must practice good personal hygiene, be neatly groomed, and be in uniform
• Preferred: Housekeeping experience (cleaning, environmental services, custodian, janitorial, room attendant, floor care technician, hotel operations, healthcare)

Physical Requirements

• Standing, walking, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, and reaching continuously throughout a shift.
• Pushing, pulling, and lifting furniture and equipment (25 - 100 lb.) frequently
• Pushing and pulling carts or equipment (over 100 lb.) on tile and carpeted floors continuously throughout a shift
• Must handle chemicals including bleach, wax, and disinfectants
• Must be able to operate equipment necessary to perform essential functions of the job
