Job summary

Juliette Fowler Communities is seeking a Floor Technician to support residents in a senior living environment. The role involves cleaning floors, routine housekeeping, and attending to care areas with proper disinfectants.

The position requires adhering to cleaning schedules, maintaining equipment, and coordinating with Facilities Management. This on-site role includes terminal cleaning in rooms and support during resident transfers.

Responsibilities

• Follows cleaning schedule (daily, weekly, monthly) as outlined for EVS department.
• Cleans floors by wet mops, sweeps and disinfects where needed; handles emergency housekeeping.
• Scrubs and cleans carpeted and non-carpeted areas with proper equipment and chemicals.
• Ensures common areas are kept clean and free of trash.
• Cleans entrances and exits; adheres to floor and wall cleaning procedures.
• Cleans all horizontal surfaces daily or as required; removes dust, dirt or grease; uses disinfectants in care areas.
• Performs terminal cleaning in resident rooms after discharge and prepares for new occupant.
• Performs cleaning in isolation units during resident transfers per procedure.
• Removes curtains, drapes, and dividers for cleaning; disposes of waste properly.
• Reports observations of structural/equipment wear, defects, and malfunctions to supervisor.
• Reports supply and equipment needs to Facilities Manager for replenishment.
• Maintains equipment used for duties.
• Relieves laundress as scheduled or on a PRN basis.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/TASKS:

• 1. Follows cleaning schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) as outlined for EVS department.
• 2. Cleans floors: wet mops, sweeps, disinfects where and when necessary. Performs emergency housekeeping where accidents occur.
• 3. Scrub, shine and clean carpeted and non-carpeted areas using appropriate equipment and chemicals.
• 4. Common areas are kept clean free of trash.
• 5. Cleans entrances and exits: Cleans as directed above for floors and walls.
• 6. Cleans all horizontal surfaces daily or as required, removing dust, dirt, or greasy film, using disinfectants where necessary such as in resident care areas.
• 7. Performs terminal cleaning duties according to established procedure in resident rooms when resident has been discharged or transferred, and prepares room for new occupant.
• 8. Performs cleaning duties in isolation units when resident is transferred, according to established procedure.
• 9. Removes for cleaning and re-hangs curtains, drapes, and dividers. Removes waste and disposes of waste and trash.
• 10. Reports observations concerning structural and equipment wear, defects and malfunctioning to supervisor.
• 11. Reports supply and equipment needs to Facilities Manager for replenishing.
• 12. Maintains equipment used in performing duties.
• 13. Relieves laundress as scheduled or on a PRN basis.
• 14. Other duties as assigned.
