Job summary

Southern Cleaning Services in Carrollton, GA, is seeking reliable janitorial staff to clean floors, restrooms, windows, and fixtures across client facilities. You will sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, strip, and polish floors, and handle various surface types with appropriate methods.

This role requires following chemical safety procedures, using power equipment, moving furniture, removing trash, and assisting with event setup.

Qualifications

• Experience cleaning various floors and spaces.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and vacuuming.
• Care for different floor types by hand and/or power equipment.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and vacuuming.

• Care for different types of floors (including but not limited to carpet, tile, VCT, wood) by hand and/or use of power equipment.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
• Clean laboratory equipment, such as glassware and metal instruments, using solvents, brushes, rags, and power cleaning equipment.
• Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
• Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, by spreading snow melting chemicals.
• S et up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as sporting events, banquets and meetings.
• J ob assignments can vary from facility to facility with the possibility of transfer.

• Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

The employee may be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc. including AIDS and Hepatitis B Virus. The noise level is usually moderate. Reviews will be conducted on a 90 day, 6 month and annual basis the first year of employment.
