Job summary

Onyx of Bernice is seeking a Floor Tech to perform daily floor maintenance within our facility. You will work under the Housekeeping Supervisor, maintaining clean, safe floors and assisting with routine tasks to support resident care.

The role offers competitive wages, flexible scheduling and benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance and 401K. Prior Skilled Nursing Facility experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Follow written and oral instructions for cleaning chemicals.
• Skilled Nursing Facility experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe, clean environment for residents as directed by supervisor.
• Keeps floors clean by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming.
• Operates floor cleaning equipment and polishes surfaces as required.
• Adjusts to shift changes to meet facility needs.
• Performs other tasks related to housekeeping as assigned.

Description:

Under the direction of the Housekeeping Supervisor, the Floor Tech is responsible is for the daily maintenance of all flooring in the Facility

Responsibilities:

• Provides a safe, clean environment for residents in accordance with the Resident Care Policies and Procedures.


• Acts appropriately under the direction of the Housekeeping Supervisor.


• Adjusts to changes in the shift assignments to meet Facility needs.


• Maintains clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming.


• Operates steam-cleaning or shampoo equipment on carpeting.


• Strips, seals, finishes and polishes floor.


• Keeps work area hazard-free and clean


• Uses care in mixing water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.


• Follows a regular maintenance schedule and performs unscheduled clean up whenever needed.


• Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or redesigned depending on individual circumstances. Performs other work duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English


• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixing of cleaning compounds, liquids, disinfecting solutions, etc.


• Skilled Nursing Facility Experience (Preferred)
