Job summary

Simmons Animal Nutrition, Inc. is seeking a Floor Person to help maintain a clean, safe production floor in our Arkansas facility. You will locate and remove condemned products, keep drains clear, and support team operations to ensure efficient flow and adherence to SOPs.

The role involves physical tasks such as walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds, with PPE required. You will work as part of the production team to uphold safety, quality, and BEST practices in a processing environment.

• Deliver product to condemned container.
• May be required to clean floors using a handheld water broom.
• May be required to monitor and maintain the free flow of all drains in the production area.
• Participates as a member of the Team. Attends appropriate team meetings. Fosters cohesiveness and supports improvement actions to achieve synergy.

Ensures product is promptly removed from all floor areas, keeping floor and drains clear of condemned product according to USDA, OSHA and company requirements

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Participates as a member of the Team . Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members.Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives: Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Physical Activities: Occasional stair and ladder climbing, pushing/pulling, frequent twisting of the neck and waist, kneeling, simple grasping, lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds.Constant walking and standing, bending at the neck and waist, squatting, fine manipulation/feeling with the hands, reaching below shoulder level, repetitive motion of the shoulders, arms and hands, use of vision. Be able to efficiently work in a plant environment.
