Job summary

Oasis Rehabilitation and Nursing in Middle Island, NY is seeking a Part-time Floor Care Associate to maintain floors in offices, rooms, corridors, lobbies and dining areas. Responsibilities include cleaning to schedule, reporting needs to the supervisor, and safely handling cleaning solutions.

The role requires at least 2 years of floor care experience, ability to follow instructions, and English communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in floor care.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Must be able to be at work on time.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Ability to cooperate with other employees.
• Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis.
• Knowledge of how to strip, wax and burnish floors.
• Must be able to accomplish all responsibilities without supervision after training.
• Must be able to complete all In-Services.

Responsibilities

• Maintain floors (dust and wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction & bonneting) across offices, rooms, corridors, lobbies, entrances, stairwells and public areas.
• Complete cleaning area according to schedule and ensure timely completion.
• Report equipment/cleaning product needs or malfunctions to supervisor promptly.
• Mix and use cleaning solutions safely and follow safety precautions.
• Handle physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds and bending/reaching as required.
• Apply stripper and refinishing wax to floors.
• Follow oral instructions and cooperate with supervisor, co-workers, residents and staff.

Oasis Rehabilitation and Nursing is a hiring a Floor Care Associate to service our building.

Position Summary

• Our Floor Care Associates are generally responsible for the overall floor maintenance of hard surface and carpet (dust and wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction & bonneting) of areas that include offices, resident rooms, corridors, lobbies, entrances, stairwells and other public areas such as dining rooms.
• Our Floor Care Associates are responsible for the satisfactory and timely completion of the assigned cleaning area according to schedule.
• Reports equipment/cleaning product needs and or malfunctions to supervisor in a timely fashion.
• Is responsible for the safe and proper mixing and use of cleaning solutions and adheres to all safety precautions.
• Work involves pulling and pushing, carrying weight up to 50 pounds, twisting, bending and reaching from floor to waist height and from waist to above head.
• Applies stripper to floors (slippery surface) to remove old wax then refinishes floors with new wax product.
• Our Floor Care Associates are able to follow oral instructions is pleasant, tactful and courteous and cooperative with the supervisor, co-workers, residents and client staff.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work around cleaning products.
