Responsibilities include routine floor cleaning, buffing and polishing, operating buffers and scrubbers, reporting hazards, and adhering to infection control procedures. Collaboration with housekeeping and maintenance teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in floor tech or similar in a care facility preferred.
• Knowledge of floor care techniques and equipment operation.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to a clean environment.
• Good stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks and lift moderate weight.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning, stripping, waxing, buffing, and polishing of floors in resident rooms, hallways, common areas, and other facility spaces.
• Operate floor cleaning equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums safely and efficiently.
• Identify and report any floor maintenance issues or hazards to the maintenance team promptly.
• Follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures specific to a long term care environment.
• Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment in good working order and notify management when supplies need replenishing.
• Work collaboratively with other housekeeping and maintenance staff to ensure a clean and safe environment.
