Versova, a major U.S. egg producer, is seeking a Flock Manager to lead flock management and operations across multiple facilities. You will develop poultry care practices, drive innovation, and oversee budgeting and resource allocation.

The role requires 7+ years in poultry operations, strong leadership, analytics, and ability to travel within the region. You will work with veterinary teams to safeguard flock health and ensure regulatory compliance.

Job description

The Flock Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing flock management and operations. This position develops and implements comprehensive poultry care practices, drives innovation in flock management technologies, and ensures operational excellence across facilities. The role drives continuous improvement in flock health, productivity, and business performance.

Essential Job Functions

• Implement and oversee flock management strategies aligned with organizational objectives
• Coordinate flock operations across multiple facilities within the assigned region
• Analyze performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
• Collaborate with facility supervisors to set and achieve production targets
• Oversee the implementation of new technologies and best practices in flock management
• Maintain relationships with local industry partners, suppliers, and regulatory bodies
• Lead and develop a team of flock specialists and supervisors
• Conduct regular facility inspections and flock health assessments
• Work with veterinary teams to address complex health issues and implement preventive measures
• Ensure compliance with animal welfare standards and regulatory requirements
• Manage budgets and resource allocation for regional flock operations
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in commercial poultry operations, including 3+ years in a supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of poultry health, nutrition, welfare, and production systems
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in farm management software and data analysis tools

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience implementing new technologies in poultry operations
• Knowledge of lean management principles applied to agriculture
• Certifications in poultry welfare or production management

This position requires regular travel to facilities within the assigned area. The role involves on‑site facility visits. The Flock Manager must be comfortable working in various conditions, from office settings to poultry houses. Some evening or weekend work may be required to address urgent operational issues or participate in flock management activities.
