Job summary

Magical Beginnings Learning Centers is seeking a dedicated Schoolwide Support Teacher at our Middleton location. This role supports multiple classrooms, providing substitute coverage and classroom assistance to maintain a consistent, high-quality learning environment for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

The ideal candidate will hold EEC Teacher Certification (or CDA/equivalent), have daycare experience, and bring an energetic, engaging approach to support young children in achieving

• An engaging and energetic demeanor and a love for helping young children meet and exceed their developmental goals

Responsibilities

• Provide substitute coverage when teachers are out or during planning/ breaks
• Assist with opening/closing tasks and classroom setup for the next day
• Provide classroom support: prepare materials, engage students, supervise outdoor time, assist with meals and naps
• Adhere to daily schedule and maintain classroom cleanliness throughout the day
• Encourage participation with age-appropriate activities and maintain PQ registry hours
• Attend monthly staff meetings and contribute to a positive learning environment
• Establish positive relationships with students and parents

Some requirements of the role include:

• Availability to work a full time, flexible schedule within operating hours of the school
• Ability to spend extended periods of time on the floor with the children
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to stand up to 90% of the workday
• Attentiveness, strong time management, and a team-focused mindset

As a Floating Teacher, you will be responsible for:

• Providing substitute coverage when Teachers are either out sick, completing planning time, in need of a bathroom break, lunch break, or any other coverage throughout the day.
• Assisting Classroom Teachers with the routine opening/closing of the classroom, including but not limited to wiping down the toys, cleaning the tables, vacuuming the room, sanitizing the room (after all children have left), and overall preparation of the classroom for the next morning.
• Providing classroom assistance to support teachers as needed throughout the day, including but not limited to preparing materials for classroom lesson plans, engaging with students in free play, assisting with daily projects, supervising/zoning during outdoor time, helping with bathroom needs and diapering, snack and lunch time assistance (heating up lunches, cutting up food, helping open containers, supervision), naptime assistance, etc.
• Adhering to the daily classroom schedule while assisting teachers.
• Maintaining cleanliness of the school throughout the day including, but not limited to, cleaning staff kitchen areas, lobbies, staff and classroom bathrooms, using the zono-machine (if applicable to your school), emptying trash and disposing in dumpster, assist with laundry and organizing/putting away nap mats.
• Encouraging children's participation by providing age-appropriate interactive activities.
• Maintaining EEC required professional development hours and PQ registry.
• Attending monthly staff meetings.
• Creating a fun and safe learning environment.
• Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with students and parents.
