Job summary

International Paper, located in Omaha, NE, seeks a Floating Supervisor to oversee daily production and lead a shift-based team. You will train, plan, assign and direct work while promoting safety and teamwork to deliver a quality product.

The role requires flexibility to cover off shifts and weekends as needed. The ideal candidate has supervisory experience, preferably in corrugated packaging, and a strong ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in corrugated packaging industry preferred.
  • Ability to cover off shift as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise employees in daily production of corrugated board/converting board, including training, planning and directing work.
  • Lead and motivate employees while ensuring safety, quality and teamwork.
  • Effectively communicate operational information to all levels including crew, management, and customers.
  • Promote compliance with safety, quality and company programs.
  • Primarily manage employees on 2nd shift with openness to weekend work and flexible scheduling.

$69,500 - $92,600 (USCORE)

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s annual incentive plan.

The Job You Will Perform
  • Supervise employees in the daily production of corrugated board/converting board, to include training, planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating employee performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; promoting safety, quality production and teamwork; resolving conflicts.
  • Lead and motivate employees by setting an example of superior behavior, attitude and performance to work efficiently and effectively, while ensuring a safe work environment, and a quality product.
  • Effectively communicate operational information in both oral and written format at all levels: crew members, other supervisors, plant management, office personnel and outside customers and vendors.
  • Actively promote and ensure compliance with safety, quality and other programs and initiatives utilized within the organization.
  • Primarily responsible for managing employees on 2 nd shift but must be open to weekend work, and a flexible schedule (i.e. working different shifts)
