Job summary

Advocate Health in Winston-Salem, NC seeks a Staff Pharmacist Float for Community Pharmacy. This full-time role requires 32 hours weekly with a flexible first shift and travel between pharmacy sites. Expect holiday and weekend rotation, working across multiple Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center locations.

The pharmacist will counsel patients, review orders, support medication safety, and mentor students and staff as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Doctorate degree in pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy or NABP FPGEC.
• Licensed in the state(s) of practice or eligible for reciprocity.
• Immunization and non-vaccine injectable certification required depending on area of practice.
• Credentialing and privileging required based on area of practice.

Responsibilities

• Oversees pharmaceutical care, including evaluating literature and designing medication therapy regimens.
• Provides patient counseling about medication therapy, adverse effects, compliance, and proper use.
• Designs and monitors pharmacotherapeutic regimens and ensures policy compliance.
• Reviews and interprets medication orders and prescriptions.
• Participates in medical emergencies and supports medication safety and quality improvement.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team on formulary adherence and medication-use processes.
• Prepares, dispenses, and ensures proper storage and handling of medications.
• Serves as a preceptor and mentor for students and residents.
• Ensures age-appropriate care based on patient development and needs.

Education
