Job summary

BayCare is seeking a Medical Assistant or LPN to join a multi-specialty physician practice in the Tampa Bay area. The role includes patient histories, lab procedures, EMR management, and delivering high-quality patient care.

The position requires travel to satellite locations within Hillsborough County, with mileage reimbursement and a $2.50/hour add-on when traveling. Shift is 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday, at St Josephs Main and Childrens.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred technical Medical Assistant certification.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days of hire;
• Approved Medical Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire date or active license/certification.
• If not certified, obtain CMA/CCMA/RMA etc. within 90 days and pass within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient histories and perform routine lab procedures.
• Prepare specimens for transport to the lab.
• Follow up on test orders and report results to provider and patient.
• Maintain patient education materials and EMR records.
• Maintain medical equipment and order clinical supplies.
• Comply with regulatory agency regulations and perform other duties as assigned.
