S.L. Nusbaum Realty Co. seeks a Leasing Consultant for our 1 Hawaii community in Washington, DC. You will conduct tours, process applications, run credit checks, and prepare lease packets to maximize occupancy while maintaining excellent resident relations.

This full-time role reports to the Community Manager. Benefits include PTO, holidays, medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with match, life and disability insurance, and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Some advanced real estate training including familiarity with Landlord-Tenant and Fair Housing laws preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License if operating a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Gives tours of apartments to prospective residents.
• Runs credit reports on prospective residents.
• Prepares lease packets and inspects apartments prior to showing.
• Leases units and maintains logs of traffic.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Performs a variety of administrative tasks geared toward the goal of maximum occupancy by quality residents and performs other functions as assigned by the Community Manager. This position is considered an essential function to the operation of the Community, therefore, consistent attendance is an essential function of this position, as it directly impacts the employee’s ability to perform their duties effectively and ensures proper workflow and communication within the team.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Abides by Fair Housing Laws.
• Provides tours of apartments to prospective residents.
• Runs credit reports on prospective residents.
• Prepares lease packets.
• Inspects apartments prior to showing them.
• Maintains logs of traffic through the property.
• Leases units.
• Provides information over the telephone to prospective residents.
• Maintains a visible public relations' attitude toward current and prospective residents.

OCCASIONAL FUNCTIONS:

• Typing and filing property-related reports.
• May be asked to assist with rent collection, bank deposits, or other general errands.
• May be asked to assist with resident retention activities.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Some advanced real estate training, including familiarity with the Landlord-Tenant and Fair Housing laws, and prior experience in a leasing position; Preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License (if operating a vehicle)

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

• Physical Activities up to and including, typing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, climbing stairs, or sitting for periods of time.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
