About The Floating Leasing Consultant Position In Florida

We’re looking for a talented floating leasing consultant who will be responsible for coordinating all activities related to apartment rentals, move‑ins, move‑outs, and lease renewals. The leasing consultant is also responsible for interacting directly with prospective and current residents to achieve maximum occupancy and ensure resident retention and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Focus on the needs of others by listening, understanding, and showing empathy and respect.
• Generate and handle traffic, qualify prospective residents, lease apartments, prepare lease documentation, and complete move‑in paperwork.
• Ensure model apartments are in touring condition.
• Orient prospective and current residents to the property, process renewal paperwork, and deliver documentation monthly.
• Maintain accurate records of traffic activity in the computer system.
• Follow up with all prospective residents via phone, mail or email.
• Convert phone traffic into scheduled appointments.
• Inspect apartments before move‑ins, coordinate with maintenance for move‑in/out needs.
• Create and maintain confidential resident files and review move‑in paperwork with new residents.
• Complete weekly leasing reports accurately and timely.
• Ensure all open and close procedures are completed daily.
• Assist with ongoing resident relations; respond to requests promptly.
• Shop competitive properties.
• Inspect buildings and grounds for safety and cleanliness, alert maintenance.
• Assist with processing work order requests and ensure timely completion.
• Support management with clerical tasks such as phone calls, filing, and processing property invoices.
• Assist in planning and implementing resident activities to increase retention.
• Comply with company policies, health and safety rules, and local, state, and federal laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma is required.
• Minimum of one year of previous sales experience is preferred.
• One year of previous residential leasing experience is required.

Skills and Requirements

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Prior experience in Yardi Voyager or equivalent system is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels of management.
• Sensitivity to confidential matters.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast‑paced environment with urgency.
• Ability to relay technical concerns clearly and quickly.
• Strong reading, writing, comprehension, and English conversational skills.

• Must maintain a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance.
• Must comply with all safety requirements.
