The Float Clinic Assistant (FCA) is responsible for supporting clinical and administrative functions across multiple PPSNE health centers within an assigned region in a manner that ensures high-quality patient care and operational excellence. The FCA provides direct patient care, administrative support, patient education, laboratory support, and procedural assistance consistent with PPSNE protocols, policies, mission, and values. Travel within the assigned region is an essential function of this position. The Float Clinic Assistant must maintain reliable transportation and be willing and able to work at any PPSNE health center within the assigned region based on organizational needs. Assignments may vary based on staffing needs, patient volume, vacancies, leaves of absence, training initiatives, and other operational priorities.
In this position, the CA will float to health centers to provide in clinic patient care within a designated region, cover telehealth sessions (working from a health center or administrative building), cover asynchronous e-visits, support health center teams by managing EHR Inbaskets and follow up, and assist as needed in the Care Coordination Team. The exact mix of these activities will depend on the needs of the organization.
This position has a homebase of Providence, RI but will also be responsible for floating to New London, Norwich and Willimantic, CT.
