Overview

Floating Claims Adjuster - Southwestern Minnesota role at North Star Mutual Insurance Company.

North Star Mutual Insurance Company seeks an individual to investigate property and casualty claims, and complete underwriting inspections. This position is primarily in Minnesota, with periodic travel to work catastrophe claims within the company operating territory. To efficiently complete the required duties, the applicant should live in or around Southwestern Minnesota.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate property and casualty claims and complete underwriting inspections.
  • Follow directions, assist other staff, and be a self-starter capable of working independently.
  • Document and manage first- and third-party claim files; conduct recorded statements; negotiate settlements; estimate damages; and prepare detailed reports in compliance with state law and company policy.
  • Maintain professional appearance and rapport with policyholders and Agent partners.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Possess basic knowledge of construction, farm, and technology (preferred).
  • Perform physically demanding activities (including climbing) and periodic travel outside the assigned territory.

Compensation and Benefits
