Job summary

Price Chopper in NY is seeking a Bakery Associate to support daily bakery operations, ensure top customer service, and maintain 5S standards in the store environment.

You will assist with preparation, baking, merchandising and presentation of bakery products, and help train fellow associates. This role requires strong communication and basic computer skills, with readiness to act in the manager's absence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 6-12 months related experience in bakery or retail preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to policies regarding safety and training of bakery staff.
• Assist bakery manager in maintenance of inventory in freezers, coolers, back rooms and Deco Pac.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Consistently work within company 5S efficiency standards to provide fast, friendly, helpful and efficient customer service at all times.
• Responsible for smiling, making eye contact and thanking customer upon fulfilling customer's request.
• Maintain a neat, clean and organized work station, according to 5S standards, at all times.
• Assist with the bakery operations, within the retail store environment, including preparation, baking, merchandising and final presentation of all bakery products.
• Run the department in the absence of the manager.
• Ensure customer satisfaction through product availability, quality, outstanding service and sanitary conditions. Maintain an adequate presentation with proper variety of products necessary to meet the needs of the customer.
• Adhere to all corporate and state sanitation regulations in keeping a neat and clean work station.
• Responsible for fulfilling all customer special orders.
• Assist in the training and development of all bakery associates to meet corporate standards of performance.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding safety and training all bakery associates to do so.
• Assist bakery manager in maintaining corporate inventory levels in freezers, coolers, back rooms, supplies and “Deco Pacâ€.
• Ability to learn all financial aspects of bakery department including paper work, weekly shrink, transfer sales and budgets.
• Control shrink through adherence to related policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be at least 18 years of age. Ability to manage others and demonstrate follow-through to achieve desired results and objectives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Satisfactory performance reviews. Basic computer skills. Strong communication skills. High School Degree or equivalent. 6-12 months of related experience.
