Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate Teacher Permit from the Department of Education is required
• 1 year prior experience in working with young children preferred
• Infant/Toddler units (3 or 6) are required for Infant/Toddler Associate Teacher
• Immunization records must comply with Senate Bill 792
• CPR/First Aid Training Certification required
• 16 hours of health and safety training incl. nutrition training
• Must be a mandated abuse reporter

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning, preparing and implementing daily program
• Assists in planning and preparing the learning environment and materials
• Performs primary caregiving responsibilities
• Maintains the environment in a clean, safe manner
• Communicates with parents, including conferences and chats
• Supervises Teacher Aides, Substitute Teachers and Volunteers
• Assists in absence of senior staff
• Ensures health, safety, and well-being of children
• Prepares written reports as directed
• Attends meetings as requested
• Participates in professional growth activities
• Maintains confidentiality of children, families and staff
• Greets children, parents, staff and guests
• Assists other centers when requested
• All other duties as assigned
