Job summary

Acelero Learning Wisconsin - Cudahy South Center is hiring a Floater Assistant Preschool Teacher to support a Head Start classroom of 3- to 5-year-olds. You will work collaboratively with the Preschool Teacher to ensure a rich, child-centered curriculum and a positive learning environment.

This role focuses on observing behavior, guiding social and communication skills, partnering with families, documenting progress, and individualizing activities.

Qualifications

• CDA credentials or enrollment to complete within two years.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree, any field.
• Enrollment in a program to obtain such a degree.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a child-centered curriculum and learning environment that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation to promote development in all domains for children of all abilities.
• Address challenging behaviors by observing to determine possible causes of the behavior, implementing preventive measures, teaching the child new social and communication skills and partnering with families to support the child at home.
• Use observations of children and anecdotal notes to document children’s progress and individualize curriculum.
