Tiny Town Childcare & Learning Center - Kent and Painesville is seeking an energetic Float Teacher/Closer to support multiple classrooms in the afternoons. You will play with children, assist teachers, and help maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment as the day winds down.

The role involves following daily schedules, assisting with transitions, and closing procedures per licensing standards. Experience is preferred but training is available; must be patient, flexible, and a strong team

Responsibilities

• Jump into toddler, preschool, and school-age rooms to support teachers.
• Play, interact, and engage with children at their level through floor play, sensory activities, outdoor time, and simple routines.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
• Follow daily schedules and support transitions (snack, bathroom, outside, end-of-day routines).
• Build positive relationships with children and families.
• Communicate with staff and leadership to ensure smooth classroom coverage.
• As the closer, tidy classrooms, complete end-of-day cleaning tasks, and secure the building.
• Follow all state licensing rules, center policies, and safety expectations.

As the day winds down, this role transitions into the center closer—keeping routines consistent, helping children finish their day calmly, and ensuring the building is properly closed according to licensing standards.

What You’ll Do

Jump into toddler, preschool, and school‑age rooms as needed to support teachers

Play, interact, and engage with children at their level—floor play, sensory activities, outdoor time, and simple routines

Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment

Follow daily schedules and support transitions (snack, bathroom, outside, end‑of‑day routines)

Build positive relationships with children and families

Communicate with staff and leadership to ensure smooth classroom coverage

As the closer, tidy classrooms, complete end‑of‑day cleaning tasks, and secure the building
