Job summary

Children's of Alabama seeks a Specialty Care Services Staff Nurse for the Adolescent Clinic. The nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients aged 11–21, coordinating care under an on-call/flexi day shift schedule from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm as needed.

The role requires AL RN licensure (single state or NLC multi-state) and BLS certification, with 1 year outpatient staff experience.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse in AL (Single State) or eligible via NLC multi-state
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• BSN or ASN with 1 year outpatient staff experience required

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for adolescents 11–21 in the clinic.
• Provide care coordination and health maintenance within the outpatient setting.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive services.

Credentials with Equivalent Qualifications:

Essential:

• Registered Nurse AL Single State or any of the following equivalent qualifications below:
• Registered Nurse AL NLC Multi State
• Registered Nurse Non-AL NLC Multi State
• Basic Life Support

Education with Equivalent Qualifications:

Essential:

• Bachelor of Science Nursing in Nursing or any of the following equivalent qualifications below:
• Associate of Science Nursing in Nursing and 1 Year job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of Nursing Outpatient

Experience with Equivalent Qualifications:

Nonessential:

• 1 Year job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of Nursing Outpatient

The Adolescent Health Center specializes in both primary care and subspecialty consultation for adolescents ages 11 - 21. Services provided by our primary care Adolescent Clinic include: comprehensive health assessments, care of acute illness and minor trauma, immunizations, family planning, acne management, prevention and management of sexually transmitted infections, evaluation and treatment of menstrual disorders, and consultations for complex and unexplained medical problems.

Schedule: 8:00 am -4:30 pm as needed, Day Shift, Monday-Friday Standard Days
