Job description

Float Residential Service Technician (RST) and Residential Crisis Worker (RCW)

The Float Residential Services Technician (RST) and Float Residential Crisis Worker (RCW) is a technical position that provides direct services in support of the lives of people living in the program. These positions contribute to the accomplishment of the Agency mission through the provision of direct service contributing to the co‑occurring treatment of the program. All positions within this classification administer the medication administration within the program. This position performs the essential functions of an RST and RCW at a program location determined by the supervisor based on program needs. Generally, these positions will obtain their work location on a bi‑weekly basis (supervisor reserves option to change location based on program need). Work is performed, reviewed, and evaluated under the supervision of the Senior Program Director in conjunction with on‑site Program Directors.

Schedule and Location

Schedule: This is a full‑time / 40‑hour per week position; schedule and location may vary depending on program needs. Location: Onsite. Varies across 6 programs within Portland and South Portland.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or bachelor’s Degree or equivalent training in mental health preferred.
  • Minimum experience of 1 year in Mental Health Residential; 2 plus years preferred.
  • Must become certified as Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician 1 (MHRT1) within 1 year of employment; then maintain required trainings to uphold continuous MHRT1 status.
  • A flexible schedule is required.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background, child protective service check & sex offender check.
  • Must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
  • If MHRT is required for position you must pass CNA registry check.
  • If residential or ECE employee must be able to pass pre‑employment physical and TB screen.
  • Must be able to exert moderate physical effort with occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, driving, typing and frequently lift and carry material weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Driving may be necessary to attend meetings and trainings and for the occasional need to meet with clients offsite and within the program service area. This may include transportation of clients or driving to the agency location to complete work.
  • A good driving record is required.
