Job summary

ERC Pathlight is hiring a Float Registered Nurse for Denver, CO. The role requires an active CO RN license, an Associate’s degree in nursing, and Basic Life Support.

You’ll float between adult and child/adolescent locations on a three 12-hour shift weekly schedule, with weekends/holidays as needed. The Float RN provides coordinated medical and nursing care, partners with an interdisciplinary team, and maintains a therapeutic milieu across ERC Pathlight sites.

Qualifications

  • Must have an Associate’s degree in nursing and an active Registered Nurse license.
  • Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Willing to work at multiple ERC Pathlight sites and flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full range of nursing services including assessment, care planning, treatment administration, and patient education.
  • Document care and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to develop treatment plans.
  • Work as a leader within the nursing department and mentor new staff.
  • Respond to emergencies and participate in on-call shifts as needed.

What you’ll be doing:

Schedule: Full-time day shift, 6:00am-6:30pm, three 12-hour shifts/week. Floating between Eating Recovery Center's adult and child/adolescent IP locations in Denver, CO. Active CO RN license required.

The Float Registered Nurse (RN) provides coordinated medical and clinical nursing care to meet the needs of each assigned patient within the ERC Pathlight system. They will partner with a interdisciplinary team to provide quality care and a consistently therapeutic milieu for all patients.

As a leader of the health care team, the Float RN provides professional nursing care, utilizing sound clinical judgement, in alignment with ERC Pathlight’s established standards of care, policies, and procedures. They are expected to remain flexible, demonstrate effective, efficient care while maintaining quality, in alignment with ERC Pathlight’s vision, mission, and strategic plan. All teammates are expected to treat patients, families, and co-workers with dignity and respect.

The Float Registered Nurse must be:

  • Willing and able to work at all ERC Pathlight local sites as assigned
  • Compliant with licensure and certification requirements for each practice location
  • Maintain flexible schedule to meet organizational staffing needs
  • Available to work weekends and holidays as required
  • Available to work on-call shifts based on business needs, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local labor laws

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Performs a full range of nursing services including assessment, care planning, administering treatment, and evaluating patient response to care in accordance with the patient’s treatment plan
    • Performs initial intake assessment of new patients and discharge reconciliation and education
    • Places, receives, and completes provider orders per ERCP policy
    • Administers medications via multiple routes in accordance with ERCP policy and provider orders
    • Performs phlebotomy, specimen processing, and point of care testing in accordance with ERCP policy and laboratory vendor protocols
    • Places/maintains nasogastric tubes and administers enteral feeding
    • Places/maintains intravenous access and administers intravenous fluids
    • Performs wound care
    • Documents all direct patient care, monitoring, and observation in the electronic medical record
    • Supervises and delegates care to Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses and Behavioral Health Technicians
  • Communicates and coordinates care with the interdisciplinary treatment team to develop and implement an individualized treatment plan for each assigned patient
    • Ensures care provided aligns with the individualized treatment plan and patient outcome goals
  • Participates in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings regarding patient progress toward treatment goals and planning for continued or changing clinical interventions
    • Documents and reports to treatment team regarding patient status and progress
  • Participates in training, teaching, and mentoring new nursing department teammates
  • Responds to emergency situations until emergency medical services (EMS/911) arrive on scene

Must haves:

  • Associate’s degree in nursing (Required)
  • Active Registered Nurse License in state position is held (Required)
  • Basic Life Support certification (Required)
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing (Required)Ability to remain calm in stressful situations (Required)
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality (Required)
  • Teammates working in a Colorado Residential Child Care facility (RCCF) must:
    • be at least twenty-one (21) years of age or
    • be at least eighteen (18) years and work directly under the supervision of a teammate over twenty-one (21) years of age (Required)

Bonus qualities:

  • 1 year+ working with patients in the mental health field (Preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (Preferred)
