Job summary

Thomas Allen, Inc. seeks a Float Residential Program Manager to lead and support care teams across multiple homes for individuals with developmental disabilities.

The role rotates between programs in the Twin Cities area, covering shifts, ensuring person-centered services, and maintaining quality standards while managing resources and supervising staff.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years' experience providing direct care to people living with developmental disabilities and/or mental health conditions.
  • Designated Coordinator qualifications: BA +1 year direct care experience OR AA +2 years OR Diploma +3 years OR 50 hours education +4 years direct care experience under supervision.

  • Create a nurturing home promoting independence, inclusion and community connections.
  • Design engaging activities that enrich lives, build skills and meaningful relationships.
  • Ensure resident well-being through diligent oversight, advocacy and personalized care.
  • Effectively manage resources and finances to uphold quality standards.
  • Collaborate across teams to deliver comprehensive, person-centered services.
  • Provide financial oversight for the household and residents' finances, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Cover direct care shifts as needed, including scheduled and unscheduled shifts.
  • Perform other duties to support the program and mission.

This rewarding opportunity allows you to make a meaningful impact each day by using your leadership skills to support both clients and staff across multiple homes. This float leadership position is a unique opportunity to support programs where the manager might be out on leave, or the program just needs extra support for a period of time. It's a special role for someone who genuinely loves jumping in to help others in a time of need.

Please note the Residential Program Manager - Float role is a leadership position that rotates for periods of time between programs in the Twin Cities metro area.

  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the success of the program and the overall mission of the organization
What you'll need:
  • A minimum of three years' experience providing direct care to people living with developmental disabilities and/or mental health conditions.
  • Required qualifications of a Designated Coordinator, including:
    • A bachelor's (BA) degree in a field related to human services and 1 year of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons aged 65 or older
    • OR an associate (AA) degree in a field related to human services and 2 years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 or older
    • OR a diploma in a field related to human services from an accredited post-secondary institution and 3 years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 or older
    • OR a minimum of 50 hours of education and training related to human services and disabilities and 4 years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 or older under the supervision of a staff person who meets the qualifications identified in 1 to 3 above
  • Must possess effective listening skills and strong overall social and communication skills
  • Must be able to pass a Department of Human Services background clearance
  • Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, acceptable driving record, and proof of auto insurance required
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbally
