Job summary

TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center in Lebanon, TN, seeks a Float Pool Nurse to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across units, collaborating with the care team and using established nursing models.

You will assess on admission and shifts, document care, administer medications, educate patients and families, and respond promptly to requests. Requirements include TN or compact RN licensure, ADN, ACLS/BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and PALS within defined timelines.

Qualifications

  • RN licensure in state or compact state required.
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
  • ACLS certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • PALS must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the patient’s condition during admission and each scheduled shift, reporting changes in status.
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic response, and document care in the medical record.
  • Provide prompt responses to patient requests and proactively address needs.
  • Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures.
