Job summary

HCA Healthcare's Medical City McKinney is seeking a dedicated RN for a full-time night shift (7pm–7am) with rotating weekends. The role focuses on delivering direct patient care across medical/surgical units in a large, top-quality hospital system.

Qualified candidates will have RN licensure in Texas, BLS, and an ADN or BSN with timely BSN completion. PCU experience is preferred, with strong teamwork and patient-centered care emphasized.

Qualifications

• RN license verification and eligibility to practice in Texas.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of employment.
• An ADN is required with BSN to be completed within 2 years.
• Minimum 1 year PCU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care per RN practice act.
• Assess patient needs and develop care plans.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team for comprehensive care.
• Educate patients and families on health management.
• Monitor patient status and outcomes, adjusting care as needed.
• Ensure safety and compliance with hospital policies.

Full-time Rate: $45.50/hr

Job Summary and Qualifications

Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on nursing process/outcomes of a variety of medical/surgical patients.

Provider of Care:

• Determinethe predictable health status and health needs of patients (individual and family) through interpretation of health data and preventive practice in collaboration with patients and interdisciplinary healthcare team members


• Utilize a systematic approach to provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care


• Perform comprehensive nursing assessmentsregardingthe health status of the patient


• Formulate a nursing care plan based on determination of nursing diagnoses andidentifiedproblems


• Implement nursing care within the RN’s scope of practice, including compliance with other laws that apply to the practice setting


• Develop and implement teaching plans for patients concerning promotion,maintenanceand restoration of health


• Provide education, emotionalsupportand age specific care to foster a partnership with thepatient and significant others


• Provide for the care of multiple patients (individual and family) either through direct care or assignment and/or delegation of care to othermembers of the healthcare team


• Evaluate the patient’s (individual and family) responses and outcomes to therapeutic interventions


• Use critical thinking approach to analyze clinical data and current literature as a basis for decision making in nursing practice

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date


• (RN) Registered Nurse

• Bachelors Degree must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date


• 1+ years PCU experience preferred
