Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent — REQUIRED
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training — preferred
• Phlebotomy certification — preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington
• Phlebotomy Certification strongly preferred but not required in the state of FL
• 1–3 years phlebotomy experience REQUIRED, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections

Responsibilities

• Draw blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing
• Explain procedures to patients and maintain a trusting environment
• Perform verification of patient demographic info and labeling
• Maintain records and documentation
• Work under supervision and cover multiple sites as needed
• Meet staffing needs including weekends and overtime
