Bronson Healthcare Group is seeking a Float Medical Assistant to provide essential support across Kalamazoo, Portage, Battle Creek, and surrounding locations. You will take vital signs, assist clinicians, and manage patient records in a fast-paced practice environment.
The role requires completion of an accredited MA program or CMA/CCMA/RMA certification, BLS within 90 days, and strong communication skills with a focus on patient care and confidentiality. Travel between sites is required.

Title Float Medical Assistant (Kalamazoo, Portage, Battle Creek Coverage) Full Time 80 Hours Per Pay Period 8am - 5pm
Working under provider’s direction provides general nursing functions for the practice. Records vital signs, immunizations, provides initial patient assessment, obtains concise patient history, and provides various clinical information and support to providers. Processes and posts information to patient’s chart, educates patients and families regarding medications, treatments and care, and referrals. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.
Must be willing to travel to multiple locations including Kalamazoo, Paw Paw, Battle Creek, and/or South Haven, sometimes with short notice. Must familiarize self with all providers workflows and their preferences. Must learn practice-specific procedures (ultrasound guided injections, casting, etc.) and maintain any competencies required for the respective practice. Must be adaptable to change and flexible with schedule. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
MUST MEET ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire/transfer (must be in good standing and valid in the state of Michigan)
Work which produces high levels of mental/visual fatigue, e.g., interactive and repetitive or small detailed work requiring alertness and concentration for sustained periods of time, the operation of and full attention to a personal computer or CRT between 40 and 70 percent of the time. Involves considerable standing or walking, regular lifting of light-weight objects (i.e., 20 pounds or less) and assisting with heavier tasks such as assisting in lifting and moving patients. Minor straining or fatiguing positions must be assumed, and some fatiguing physical motions are required.
