American Medical Associates is seeking a Float MDS Coordinator to support three skilled nursing facilities in Rockland County, NY. You will assist the Regional MDS Coordinator, oversee MDS operations, ensure timely CMS-compliant assessments, and travel between sites as needed.

The role requires an active New York RN license, MDS 3.0 knowledge, strong communication, and the ability to collaborate with nursing, therapy, and admin teams in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Active NY RN license.
• Experience as an MDS Coordinator in a skilled nursing setting.
• Knowledge of MDS 3.0 and the MDS process.
• Long-term care experience.
• Willing to travel between facilities.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Regional MDS Coordinator in overseeing MDS operations for 3 facilities.
• Support accurate and timely completion of MDS assessments in accordance with CMS regulations.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines.
• Provide MDS support, guidance, and education to facility-level MDS staff.
• Assist with audits, triple-check processes, and quality assurance initiatives.
• Monitor case mix, reimbursement accuracy, and documentation integrity.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing, therapy, and administration.
• Support onboarding and training of new MDS staff as needed.
• Travel between facilities as required.
