Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' Robley Rex VA Medical Center seeks a Health Technician to provide clinical and administrative support across multiple inpatient wards on a float basis, aiding both acute and non-acute patient care.

The position requires one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-5, with phlebotomy and EKG experience preferred. Work includes a Monday–Friday 07:30–16:00 schedule in the busy Emergency Department.

Qualifications

• Specialized Experience: 1 full year equivalent to GS-5
• Phlebotomy and EKG experience preferred
• Experience in healthcare inpatient/outpatient settings preferred

Responsibilities

• Initiates patient monitoring and prints rhythm strips
• Performs venipuncture to obtain serum samples
• Performs urine dipstick testing and reports results
• Maintains patient charts and tracking information
• Assists with patient care tasks as delegated and manages unit supplies
• Attends in-services/training to plan quality patient care
