Job summary

Francis W. Parker School is seeking a Middle School FLL Robotics Assistant Coach to mentor teams and help students research, design, build, program and drive robots for competition. The role is for the upcoming season with meetings after school on weekdays and additional sessions before large competitions.

The position averages 4-5 hours per week during the competition season, with extra time required for major events. Compensation is a $3,000 seasonal stipend with no benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience with FIRST Robotics as a participant or mentor.
• Ability to guide students through researching, designing, building, programming, testing and driving robots.

Responsibilities

• Oversee two weekly after school work sessions, 3 Saturday work sessions and competition events.
• Mentor and guide students through the engineering process for robotics competitions.
• Foster and manage teamwork skills among student team members.
• Attend monthly mentor meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
