Job summary

Hermeus Corporation, based in Los Angeles, invites students to join a 16-week Fall internship focused on design, build, and test of flight hardware for the Mk 2.3 airframe. You’ll work with design and production teams, translating concepts into CAD models, refining geometry, and contributing to manufacturing and tooling plans.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing, building, and testing vehicles via internships, studies or projects.
• Must be enrolled in a STEM program (undergrad 3rd/4th year or grad program).
• Strong interest in vehicle hardware and understanding of engineering principles.
• Comfort with CAD, test equipment, and hand tools.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and GD&T fundamentals.
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams and communicate effectively.
• Willingness to travel to test sites and other offices/partners.
• Enthusiasm for aviation and Hermeus's mission.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, build, and test of flight hardware for Mk 2.3 airframe.
• Support project planning and hardware delivery on development timelines.
• Translate concepts into CAD models with DFM considerations.
• Assist in transitioning prototypes to production-ready components.
• Help simplify designs to reduce part count and improve assembly flow.
• Develop build processes, tooling concepts, and integration plans for structural hardware.
• Support test plans and procedures for structural and flight validation.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and test teams for vehicle integration.
